Khawalung Monastery was founded by "Lama Jigme Dorjee" and has been inaugurated in 2005 by HH Trulshik Rinpoche and HH Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche. The Monastery has a elementary school and a training school for rites and rituals and has 40 young Monks in the age of 8 - 18 Years. It specially preserves the treasure teachings of HH Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.

Besides that the Monastery is a home for the Monks it also offers a few rooms for people from outside the Monastery who like to do their own practice, retreat or join in the teachings of Lopon Jigme Lodoe who is running the Monastery at the moment. And of course everyone is welcome to visit the Monastery any time.
